Hi Guys,

Had my Ibanez for a little over a year now and its worked perfectly. However two days ago a problem seems to have developed.

1. When I plug the guitar into my amp nothing happens. The amp is on and working (I can hear the static) but the guitar doesn't want to connect with it (I have tried fiddling with the knobs on the guitar and amp) i.e nothing comes out of the amp, the guitar is still "acoustic".

2. When I plug the guitar up to my electric tuner the same happens. I pluck a string and it doesn't register with the tuner.

As the equipment is working fine I believe this to be a problem with the "jack" in my guitar. How would I go about fixing this problem? Is it easy to fix myself or would it be easier to take my guitar to a music shop and let them take a look?

Thanks

Hmmm, i dont actually have another spare connector cable. None of my friends have an electric guitar either. I trust they are cheap to purchase from all good music shops..

Yes, they are very cheap if you buy, the cheap ones, such as the in house brand ones. It shouldn't cost you more then $10 USD, not sure how much they go for over there.

Though if it is the jack, then that's also a very cheap and easy fix, but we'll cross the bridge when you get to it.

Just replace the jack, simple fix no worries.
