I have an Ibanez Bass that looks like a Gibson SG. It has an open head stock. How do I find any info on this Bass?

Look in the catalogs around the mid 70's and earlier.

Current "Heard":
UV777PBK - UV7PWH - UV7BK "Green Dot" - UV7BK "Green Silver Dot" - RG7620VK - RG7420BK - RG1527RB

Acording to Ibanez catalogs Sound of Today publisher in 1977. My bass is a NO. 2354 SB. So it has to be at least a 77.
Thank you for your help.

If it's a '77 then there will be a serial number that starts with a letter, followed by '77' and several other digits. The letter will be between A and L, signifying the month it was made. Ibanez started using serial numbers in '76, so if your bass has no number, then it was made earlier than '76.

At a fast glance I did not find any S# or MO#. It does have printed on it MADE IN JAPAN. It is a great Bass.

From Ibanes, it could be Model 2400LB "EB-4L-style" long scale with 1 pickup [Cherry wine] 1974-76, or 2403B "EB-3-style" short scale with 2 pickups [Cherry wine].

It's pictured in an issue dated 1973 as a 2354SB. It shows up in 71 but as a LB

Ok, I see, said the blind man. The 2354SB is the Short scale.
