You are not alone. Many of us miss the classic Iceman, and the IC-400 was the last example of a classic Iceman Ibanez offered. We also wanted the IC-400 to be offered in white - as well as a few other colors, but Ibanez just does not do that.

Even southern rock playing hillbilly country girls like me loved the classic Iceman... For many of us, the ICT-700 was far from an improvement by any measure any of us can think of. The only good things about the ICT-700 are the pickups, the bridge and the fact that it is available in white... Everything else about the ICT-700 is totally crappy... And its butt ugly to boot.

rusty.... you hit the nail on the head!! id love to see the ic400 return. id like it if it were an option to get the edge pro in it as well. maybe an ic450? i still want the old ic350. yea it has the crappy lo-trs bridge but i can switch that out!! the iceman should make a comeback! lets start a petition to make the iceman series be the iceman again!! oh and off topic... bring back the talman as well.

My gear.....

I seem to do that a lot - and everyone at Ibanez really hates it when I do that.

All petitions succeed in doing is give the folks at Ibanez something to chuckle about...
Bascily if you do not play an RG or an S, Ibanez does not care about anything you say.
Ibanez does not simply shut the door on us, they slam the door on us.

The only classic Iceman we will ever see again will be a Prestige Iceman
that will be priced way out of reach for most of us.

Ibanez has stated many times over and over again that this will never happen.

I love my old azz 300, never played a 400. Newer model maybe with a different bridge? Remember to include in this petition the same case that came with my 300 and not that one size fits all example of a cheap azz case they are pushing out the doors right now...

Notice the case is made for the guitar its nice and snug, not a generic case to fit all

The IC-400 was the last "real Iceman". It was a set-neck 24.75" scale classic Iceman with a neck profile similar to the classic Artist. It had two volume controls and two tone controls as well as a three-way toggle. The hardware Ibanez used on the IC-400 was far from the best - but easily replaceable with better quality hardware because everything was standard sizes... The only big drawback (or flaw) in the IC-400 offering was that it was only available in black - and nothing else for its entire production run (June 2003 through October 2007)... Ibanez totally and completely ignored all request for the IC-400 in another color... This was an example of shamefully bad marketing and customer relations on Ibanez's part... Ibanez made no effort at all to meat the wants, needs and desires of classic Iceman enthusiasts. They simply discontinued the model.

This is another example of shamefully bad customer relations on Ibamez's part. Ibanez was well aware that the case they were pushing does not fit the Iceman securely - or even properly... But do not make the mistake of expecting Ibanez to do anything about it. Especially since they discontinued the last real Iceman anyways.

I am just happy that I have a real one, most children lust after Les Pauls or SG's. I have always been different; my first concert ever was KISS in 76 and my second concert was KISS is 79 and both times Paul played his broken mirror Iceman. I just had to have the guitar and when Ibanez did the re-release with the 300, I snagged one early in the production run. The 3rd fret near the treble side was pulling up and I did not notice till the gig the night I purchased the guitar. There was my blood all over the stage and the neck of the guitar but I did not feel it then. My singer told me that there was blood all over the stage; I looked at the neck. Thats when it hurt like a mother....... Good thing the night was almost done. I brought the guitar back to Daddy's and they sent it back to Ibanez, three months later I got my guitar back. No problems since (knock on wood).

Hmmm never knew the difference between the 300 and 400, the additional controls would be nice. I also was gassing over "J's" Iceman (White Zombie) when that was being sold but the tremolo scared me away since I love hardtails over trems.

That is the coolest Iceman ever! I really regret not buying the one my local shop had a couple of years ago. I played amazing and was mint, not a single scratch! Not realising how rare and sought after they where, I just thought ''sometime I want one of those''Wall

I'm yearning for an Iceman with 3 single coils. That would be great. That would be better than great. That would be beyond amazing.

Nah... But I might go for one with three humbuckers...

Maybe...

Nah... Just two humbuckers - a Super Distortion and a PAF Pro... Yeah, thats the ticket.

This is a nice thread. The IC400 is one of my dream guitars. I was fortunate to get an IC300, closest I can get to the IC400. The IC700 with an RG neck doesn't feel like an Iceman to me. I call it the Iceman-shaped RG.
