is the diagram below correct? anyone please help.

i have a v7 and v8 pickups that came from rg550 which has both 3 conductor wire:

i will put these to replace my rg320 infinity pickups inf3 and inf4 with a 5 way switch. i've made a diagram from rg620 and modified it(is it valid?):

your pickup selector looks like this?

yes? then flip it over so that the arm is straight down with the green pc board facing up
and it should match the one below
I made this diagram of the one out of my RG2EX1
the terminals should line up with yours

what mine did was

1) Bridge
2) single from Bridge + single from Neck
3) Bridge + Neck
4) Neck in parallel
5) Neck

my V7 neck
had a green - red - black and big black shrink-wrapped wire with the White & Bare combined

My V8
had a red - white and shrink-wrapped bare

looks like you want

1) Neck
2) Neck single
3) Bridge + Neck
4) Bridge single + neck single
5) Bridge

right

it looks good but, counting from left to right, you will need a jumper between terminals 2 and 6 for the coil split to find a path to ground

excellent work Clap

ok but my v7 has red and white wire and shrink-wrapped bare.
my v8 has red and white wire and shrink-wrapped bare also!

i hope the diagram i modified works. if i can only find a super 5 way switch from here(i'm from philippines) there will be no problem. is there any wiring posibilities from a 3 - conductor pickups using a standard 5-way switch?

yes my 5 way switch looks that way. the diagram i modified is from rg620 with QM pickups( i hope it works for v7 and v8):

as I said
if it looks like the one i posted and has that number printed on it

you only need a jumper from 2 to 6 so that the coil split finds ground

you could get some serious other combinations if you had a 4 pole 5 way super switch

but the one you got will work just as you have it ( plus the jumper )

your diagram is fine

I only gave the reference to my V Series pickups because they are different than yours

looking at the photos of yours it looks as if yours may be the famous made in usa version
that everyone on here raves about

note the V7-F2 on the neck label

ok, i already soldered the v7 and v8 pickups to my guitar. it works really great. my customized diagram works. i also added a volume capacitor (331 ceramic disk) like on the diagram and it retains clarity when volume knob is rolled down. Dance.

maybe it's the same because my original wiring with inf3 and inf4 pickups has a jumper from 2 and 6.

here's is what i found:
position 1 is full humbucker mode of v7.
position 2 is the outer single coil mode from v7 (less output).
position 3 is both humbucker from v7 and v8 but sounds like out of phase but the volume is full(not less output).
position 4 is the outer single coil from v7 and inner single coil from v8 and it's out of phase sound (less output).
position 5 is full humbucker mode of v8.

my 5 way selector switch exactly looks like this (with number 2502N):

and the jumper as seen in the diagram ( 2 & 7 )
