Doesn't Ibanez make a 5-way"super switch", and if so will it fit in an S470DXQM?

Apparently the DiMarzio switch won't fit because the cavity is too shallow.
Same for a push/pull pot. Anyone know of one that will fit the 470?

the switch that comes in the s470dxqm should do what you want. if its coil tapping the humbuckers by themselves then you will need some mini toggles because as you stated the cavity is just to shallow. the "super 5 way" switch wont let you do the individual humbucker taps you want. it will only do the bridge tapped with the middle pickup or neck tapped with middle pickup. the same as the stock switch.

What I have in mind is installing 2 DiMarzio D'Activators and a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage 54Pro which is a stacked HB. I got a drawing from DiMarzio for a HB-S(HC)-HB for a Strat but I think it is the same application for the S470. It says that I need to get their switch to be able to shut down the bottom coil on the VV54P as well as the outermost coils on the D'Activators in positions 2&4. I also want to wire in a switch to get the,"7-tone" setup,
adding both HBs only and all 3 PUs.

oh ok. you will need the "super" switch. did you get one and try it? id grab one up and give it a shot. i replaced the original switch out of my rg 550 with a dimarzio regular 5 way and it wasn't much larger. the super 5 way might be thicker but i don't think it is taller. id try one first. as far as the full 7 situation you will need to put in a couple of mini toggles for that. i know it sucks but the push-pull knobs just don't fit the s bodies.

edit.....(brainfart!)
witch pot were you going to replace with push-pull? i think the volume pot will work. im not 100% but if the SV series has the true-duo system then it will have a push-pull knob on it and its an S body.

Quite a few Ibanez guitars will use a standard 5-way switch. It looks like this...

Both Dimarzio and Fender make 5-way super switches. I used the Fender one in my RG7620 just b/c it was 10 dollars cheaper. Great switch.

If you think those are big, you should see the Fender and Dimarzio ones. Essentially, any super switch is composed of two 5-way switches that share a lever.

By looking at these two images, looks like the Ibanez super switch is actually smaller than the stock Ibanez switch. Looks like the super switch is shorter and wider. Am I right?

but will it fit the "hole" made for the switch to fit the s cavity? the switch in mine doesn't have a lot of clearance around it. not enough for that gargantuan super switch. or at least i dont think so. i could be wrong......

It fits the hole. If anything...you may need to route/drill the electronics cavity.

Works on all my MIJ sabers.
