I'm very exited about the RGD. I want to know more about them, and definitely see some more pics... That purple Darkstone looks awsome!!

2010 seems to be a good year after all. I didn't expect a new version of the RG body.

I see at least 2 I would be interested in (I already have an FR1620). Of course those 2 will be the models not imported into the U.S.

They really seem to like increased beveling on bodies next year...the RGD I assume is an RG basic shape with added bevel. Look at the coming ART80:

Could the D indicate DiMarzio or Duncan for the pickups?

SR505 -- Organic tone, going deep and pure with Bartolini
Crate 220 - adequate starter head with decent EQ
Ampeg SVT-15E cab - my low notes are pure!
Possible future head upgrade: SVT-3pro or -4pro (when my ship comes in.... ;-))
Possible future cab: SVT-18 (true!) or AccuGroove El Whappo Grande (even deeper)

Then the RGs, XPTs, and DTT with Dimarzios would need that designation. It's probably something to do with the bevels, or perhaps the "stripped down" loop.

My eye was also drawn to the black/purple burst Darkstone. Really cool looking guitar with an amazing color IMO. Lets hope that they also have colors like that for the rest of the series like the RGs and Ss.

Love the name idea Ouija ;).

The black guitar on the table to the right is definitely the RGD7, zoom in and count tuners and you'll see.

And I am more and more convinced that the guitar in the middle of the top row in the rack is an 8-string RGA with a trem.

The right-most one is a 6-string RGA with trem I think, while the first guitar could, could, could, be a 7er. If the last is true, I'm definitely in the waiting cue for that one.

And yea, the Darkstone is cute ;).

In the picture:

Top Row L-R: RGA7 with Trem, RGA8 With Trem, RGA6 (possibly 7) with Trem
Middle Row: New RG, RGD6
Bottom Row: Iceman Bass, New Bass Design, SRX Bass
Table: RGD7, JCRG9670 (blue), JCRG9670 (black)
Floor: Darkstone in purple, Darkstone Black

At least thats the consensus at SS.org.

Am I the only not digging the RGD? I'm not going to go as far as to say I don't like it, but I'm "not-so-sure" about it. All the reaction from the forums (other sites) has been positive for it, so maybe I am the odd one out here.

If you magnify the picture it is clear that the 3 on the top row are RGA's, the one in the middle is a RGA8 (purple), then the red one is a RGA7, and the green one (others have said dull black) is a RGA6 (with a tremolo). Even though these will likely be MII, if they continue to make guitars as well as they have this past year, these will still be nice instruments.

The odd thing is though, if you look closely at the "body binding" on the RGA7 and RGA8, it looks like it is a natural masked type binding, like what is done on the current prestige RGA. It is possible that these might be prestige (I can't see the headstock). The RGA6 looks to be pretty clear that it is a prestige on the headstock.

I'm not completely sold on the RGDs either, I kinda want to see the specs. Plus, I'm not a huge EZ fan.

As for the RGAs, in the second pic, if you look at the headstock there's no "Ibanez Check" so it's possible these are Prestige series guitars.

Yeah, I edited my last post also, look at the binding, which is prestige type stuff, not MII. The tremolo appears to be an edge zero as well, I wouldn't think they would put that on an MII guitar.

These threads are seeing way more traffic on other sites. Does no one visit this forum any more?

I guess this board is kinda dead. It would be nice if the mods would start up more discussion opposed to occasionally offering a little help every blue moon.

Oh well, tis the fate of most "Official" boards.

I remember when they would throw us teasers, and discuss models, etc.

i also remember that some of the "older" members (not really here with us today) would bash the mods head against the wall for giving us teasers of things some people did not want

That makes more sense.

Any idea when the '10 offerings will be unveiled and/or available in the US?

Not that I'm in a rush, gotta sell my house first (and all the mess that goes with selling it and getting reloacated).
And I'm not into the speculation game. Dance
