Ibanez RG Serial Number Lookup

Hey Everybody,



I have an Ibanez 7-string with a gun-metal finish. A model number for this guitar would be helpful.


Serial# F0140967


Also would anybody be able to decode the year and month the guitar was made in?




I got it off ebay and it's missing a few parts and I would like to replace some missing screws/bolts.

Serial# F0140967 cooresponds to the 40967th guitar made in 2001 at the Fujigen factory in Japan.

Beautiful guitar btw. I looked (cursorily) through the 2001 and 2002 catalogues but wasn't able to find it, maybe if you take a close look you can: http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/index.htm. Looks to me like an RG7420 (or maybe an RG7620?) with aftermarket EMG pickups but it's tough to tell. Don't quote me on that, it's just a guess.

If you take off the neck and look in the neck pocket, there may be a stamp on either the body or neck indicating what model it is.

Yep, that's an RG7420 alright, pretty nice condition too. Way to go!

Awesome! Thanks so much! I bought dual EMG 707s because I was not too crazy with the stock pickup sounds. I actually had a woodworker fit the EMGs because it would not fit correctly. The guitar plays beautifully! Thanks for all the help!
