What does CP at the beginning of an Ibanez serial number would stand for?

I just bought a used sr505. I'm aquainting myself with the instrument and wanted to get more information. I have been looking up its serial number. What I have found so far is that Ibanez (post 1987) serial numbers contain the following information:

letter = factory
first two numbers = year
second two numbers = month
last 4 numbers = build number

My guitars number is CP06086415.

C stands for the Cort factory in Korea - I think. Then I have a 2006 August guitar with a build number of 6415.

But what about the P? Anyone know what CP at the beginning of an Ibanez serial number would stand for?

Seem to remember that the CP stood for Cort and another Cort plant (IE: the parts were made in two different plants and then assembled). Could be just remembering it wrong, but this question has popped up before.

So, the C probably stands for the Cort plant in Indonesia. Any idea what the P would stand for?

Actually the stand alone "C" is the Cort plant in Korea. The "CP" is the Cort factory in Indonesia. So your bass is Indonesian and built in August 2006.

Wow! Thank you. I've got a gem here. This bass has no fret wear and no scratchs or dings. It is in true pristine shape. The rosewood drank up some oil pretty good so I figured it had to have some age to it but you cannot tell otherwise. Great find.

Hi.
I have bass BTB200. It serial number begins "I". It is exactly Indonesian plant.
I am going to buy SR500. Serial number starts with "CP" and bass has description "made in Korea" on the back of the headstock.
But you said that "СP" means Indonesian. So I don't understand how is it?.. Is bass Korean or Indonesian?..

Im in the same boat as Toshi...I have an SR 500, serial number CP 07125695...which im guessing means the axe was made in Korea at the Cort plant (or combination of 2 Cort plants???) in December 2007.

Either way its a killer bass for the price!

Hey can someone help me out. My Grandpa died recently and he left me his bass. I've been trying to figure out what it is exactly. I already know it is an Ibanez. It is also a challenger. The serial number is F770007. Any help is much appreciated.
