I messed with the Search function a bit, and am not finding much discussion of the old Talman electric models. Am I the only one around here who thinks that the Talman was one of the best designs to ever come out of Ibanez? I have and have had RGs, Icemen, 7 strings, etc... this Talman TC825 is the one I always come back to.

I saved up lawn mowing money when I was a teen and bought this old girl new in 1998. She's still in pretty good shape. In fact, its dead mint aside from a small finish crack from where my WIFE knocked it off of a chair! Wall

I had a green Talman w/ lipsticks at one point as well, but gave that away to a girlfriend waaay back. Like a dummy.

I'd love to see y'all's Talmans if you don't mind sharing!

I recently put the original Super 58 back in the bridge of my 825 - after having a DiMarzio Evolution in there since '99.

Anyway, here is mine:

Tracy - I'm a big fan of the color and the P90s. Very nice.

I remember cutting the ad out of a magazine and hanging it on my wall - which was the first time I saw the silver 825. When I finally had the $$ saved up, the local shop ordered one for me, and said that it was the second to last one left in the country (warehoused, anyway). I consider myself lucky to have her!

Thank you. It's really pretty in real life. The P90's sound wonderful as well.

Subtle, classy looking guitars. Diceman, Tracy, thanks for the nice pics! Diceman, are those the stock saddles? I guess they are the roller kind, for the Bigsby.

They are the stock saddles - but not roller type. I had string breakage issues in the past. I think I got the saddle slots cleaned up enough that I won't have problems any more.

The bridge I see in the photo is the stock Gibralter II bridge that should be on a TC-825.

Ibanez did not yet have a roller bridge back when the solid body Talman's were in production... The roller bridge Ibanez has now actually kinda stinks... It's not very good at all. Gotoh/Wilkinson makes a much better roller bridge - but it won't fit on a TC-825.

I thought I wanted a Telecaster one of these days. Maybe it just changed. If it sounds half as good as it looks, it is fantastic.
