Does anyone know the body dimensions on the Gibson 335 and the Artcore line? Also, is there a diffence in body size between AS103, AS93 and AS73? Thanks.

All the AS bodies are the same, but each step up has better wood finishes (prettier), more stable necks, AS-73 mahogany, AS-93 mahogany, maple, mahogany, not sure about the neck on the AS-103 I believe it's the same but more of the mahogany-maple-mahogany theme.

My AS-93 is VERY stable though, can't imagine a more stable neck.

In my opinion, the big bump up on the AS-103 are the PUPs. The AS-93 is a nice guitar (the AS-73 ain't bad either), other than the fret work, it's about as nice as the AS-103, But the PUPs are simply better....

My 2006 AS103 neck is five pieces of wood. It goes like this:

Maple
Bubinga
Maple
Bubinga
Maple

The Bubinga is very fine stripes of dark wood in contrast to the light maple.

Also it looks like the face of the headstock is a Rosewood veneer over maple.... and the fretboard is rosewood too..... so i guess you could say it's a 7 piece neck.

My AS73 is a very similar size to my EB-2, which is essentially an ES335 with a 30.5 inch bass neck. I don't have the bass with me to measure exactly, but if you want to fit an AS into an ES335 case, my guess is it will fit quite well. I'll see if the AS fits into the Gibson's case when I get a chance on Sunday, assuming I remember to do it.

My AS73 fits perfectly in an SKB case made for an ES-335. I double checked the SKB web site and they list the same case for both the 335 and the AS series of guitars. Given that, I'd say that they are all the same size.

Just judging from pics here,. but the AS guitars seem slightly flatter across the endpin than the 335s? I was playing an AS73 and an Epi Dot this week, and thought the As was a bit smaller in the lower bout as well. Could just b an impression though.... Anyone have actual body measurements? FWIW, the As73 I played seemed lighter than the Dot as well.

Wood being what it is, any given AS73 might be lighter or heavier than any given Epi Dot or ES335. If it fits the same case, the dimensions are close enough to not worry about it much. They are shaped a just a little different, especially at the cutaways.

When I compare my AS-93 to my Riviera (in the DOT family)they are VERY similar in both size and weight. The "Hornes" are a bit different, one is sharper than the other. I'm sure the dimensions will vary to some degree between the two......

yeah the hornes are shaped a little bit differently. I went to guitar center this past weekend and it looked like they were close to the same size with the Gibson a little wider in the lower bout. It also seemed that the Gibson was a little bit deeper too.
