Hey Guys, i just found this on some other site, thought it was useful, so heres a whole bunch of what trems fit into what cavity, hope it helps. It was done by someone on another forum, so i DO NOT claim that i did anything on it. He said that he did experiments to check them, so they should all be pretty accurate.

on IBANEZ EDGE-III cavity:

• Ibanez Edge into Edge-III cavity: NO

• Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge into Edge-III cavity: NO

• Ibanez Edge-Pro into Edge-III cavity: YES

• Original Floyd Rose into Edge-III cavity: YES

• Schaller Floyd Rose into Edge-III cavity: NO

on IBANEZ EDGE/LoPro EDGE cavity:

• Original Floyd Rose into Ibanez Edge/LoPro Edge cavity: YES

• Ibanez Edge-Pro into Ibanez Edge/LoPro Edge cavity: YES

on IBANEZ EDGE-PRO/EDGE-PRO II cavity:

• Ibanez Edge into Ibanez Edge-Pro/Edge-Pro II cavity: NO

• Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge into Ibanez Edge-Pro/Edge-Pro II cavity: NO

• Original Floyd Rose into Ibanez Edge-Pro/Edge-Pro II cavity: YES

• Schaller Floyd Rose into Ibanez Edge-Pro/Edge-Pro II cavity: NO

on Original FLOYD ROSE cavity:

• Ibanez Edge into Original Floyd Rose cavity: YES

• Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge into Original Floyd Rose cavity: YES

the TRS/LoTRS/LoTRS-II cavities are not covered as ANY Floyd licensed trem (except maybe Kahler Floyds) can be easily installed in those, no works needed

Maybe this could be stickied somewhere so that not just RG forum viewers see it, but so everyone sees it

For what reason? The sticky that is?
The most powerful forces in American life, are forces that are not voted in and out of office every two or four years. And it represents a belief that Americans must force that reckoning by themselves. No politician will do it for them. Those instincts are exactly right, and we’ve never needed them more than today.

Should have a "Common Questions" area of the forum, with one thread for each common question. And if a common question is asked in some other thread, elsewhere on the forum, which elicits a really good and in depth answer from one of the forumites, it should be copied (in whole or in part) into the "Common Questions" area by the Mods. Saves on all those "how do i setup my trem" posts all over the place.

This is nice, I did not know an original floyd would fit into my Edge pro slot. I actually might consider doing this mod.

Hmm I was under the impression the spacing of the trem posts was different for the original floyd rose and the EP. It will probably fit in but it wont be easy to get it working in there.
many guitars including serveral Ibanez models
I also do this Cobalt Raptor Web Design

Well the Edge pro fits into an Edge 3 cavity, and i have seen about 4 or 5 other guitars that used to have an edge 3, but now an original floyd, so i guess it would fit. Im pretty sure that the original floyd rose is supposed to be able to fit into any cavity, so ive heard anyway. But Ouija thats an excellent idea, although isnt there already an FAQ ??? is that what you were thinking of?

Replace the posts that came with the new trem, drop in new trem, intonate guitar--finished!
Just another Ibanez freak!

Hi folks!

I replaced my Edge III with an original Ibanez Edge LoPro. (RG 350 MYE)
Little routing work was necessary and I'm absolutely stunned with the results!
Superb playability, almost no optical disturbance, it almost looks as if it was delivered that way!

See pictures, they're selfexplanatory!!

I had the work done at BASSLAB in KASSEL, GERMANY. They build high end futuristic guitars and I simply asked Heiko, their boss, if they would take a shot on this and they did! I payed approx. half the price compared to all other offers I got (75 Euros!!).

This included routing, drilling for bigger studs, painting the cavities where routed, installing the system, professional setting for lowest string height possible incl. proper intonation.

Regards, Dee

I wouldn't see why. I've played guitars with the BEST Floyd made trem. They ALL feel blocky and stiff compared to an Edge/LoPro/EdgePro trems. I've used all three, and the Edge Pro is one of the most Ergonomic and transparent (as far as right hand feel) floating tremolo made. That includes Ibanez's newest knife trem that is a bit more blocky.

I love my EdgePro. If anything, I am going to get locking studs.

Thinking about the brass block mod too.

The edge pro is every thing you said. However, for my personal taste, it feels a little "flimsy", it doesn't not have that "substantial" feel that the original edge, lo-pro edge and original Floyd rose systems have. It is a matter of taste, I know. I can see why you like it, just for me, not a big fan.

I've got an RG170 (not DX). I dunno what year it was made, but it has a Fat 20 bridge, I think. I'd like to swap it out, with an Edge Pro or Edge 3. I'm not sure if they will fit the cavity though. Any help, would be appreciated.
