Hi,

New member here; recently re-joined the "Hollow Body" bass club!

After playing an original Hofner violin bass in the late sixties, early seventies and then progressing on to solo acoustic guitar that I have played for the last twenty years or so, I recently joined an originals trio, again taking up the bass.
I bought a Gibson SG bass on eBay, splendid instrument, but no comparison to the Ibanez AFB200 I recently saw in a shop in Birmingham. It was love at first sight, and a "must have" at first play!!
I bought her there and then and simply have not put her down since; beautiful craftsmanship, finish and playability, stunning looks, and a truly wonderful range of sounds that suit the style that our band plays (original folk/country/rock fusion).

So, I am one happy "olde git" having gone full circle, back to playing music I love on a hollow body bass that I love.

Congratulations Ibanez, I feel truly blessed to be able to own and play such a wonderful instrument (and I've tried a few)!!

Just one query, I would like at some point to replace the white plastic tuners with gold metal ones, which would be a bit less prone to breakage (I have seen one or two posts regarding this issue). Do Ibanez do a direct replacement (gold metal tuners) or can anyone supply a link or information on what tuners they are (Gotoh etc)., and where I could obtain some.

Cheers............glad to be in the club and thanks for your time.................Brian.

If an Ibanez person is reading this, what are the string gauges on the factory strings?
