Newby here, I just received a Ibanez Model# AEF18-BK-OP-01 Serial# C3053750 . I have looked through the 59 pages of the rules, news and faq's and I have came up with Nothing. I would like to know the year and what and where I can get the electronics for this guitar. Read just about every page on the ae series and still lost. I have Google,Bing'd and Yahoo'd myself around, well I sure one of you can show me how easy and stupid I am. Great Thread lost I have learned already !!

Thanks
Gwince

It's a Cort-built guitar (Korea). It was built in May 2003, and it was the 3750th guitar in the run.

Dating info used was from ibanezrules.com.

Quote:

Cort Serial Numbers - Cort serial numbers are denoted with a C prefix followed by either 7 or 8 digits. I'm not sure what year the changeover occurred but using the formula it will be easy for you to tell. A 7 digit number example - C5030567 - translates, 5 = 1995, 03 = 3rd month [March], 0567 = 567th guitar built in March 1995.

How about a Pre-amp for one of these ?? Like a 5aeq23b ?? Or is there a upgrade I can do with out molesting my guitar. Going to pull the pre-amp back out and check the motherboard and wiring on it a little closer.

And Thanks Gwince !!!

I was pondering getting http://www.ebay.com/itm/...TE-SYSTEM-/361409205441 and trying to use my existing power and out put or trying the AEQ200T EQ. has anyone tried these pre-amps ?

Is this it?

http://ibanez.com/parts/...spec/AEF18BK-0P-01.html

If you drill down to the EQ board:

http://ibanez.com/parts/...arts/5AEQ14C_15_01.html

That gets you model#: 5AEQ14C (note: that's a five not an ess)

You can try ordering the part through your local Ibanez dealer but it's a 2003 part so the odds are not good.

You can also try calling (215)245-1648 to order the equalizer from Ibanez USA.

I don't know if that number is still valid, however, or if they would have a NOS part.
