Hi guys

I'm new to the forum.
I just bought a second hand Montage MSC700NT

I was hoping someone could help me with instructions for the FAST action setup on this guitar.
basically simple enough instructions for a layman to understand :)

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Not a problem. The FAST neck is a little tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you'll understand the benefits.

Neck adjustments will be done at the headstock like an electric guitar would.

Action itself if the part that can get a little goofy.

-On the backside of your guitar at the neckjoint, you should notice a large bolt (4mm I belive), and either a small hole or rubber cap. If there's a rubber cap, remove it. You will then have access to another bolt that you can't see. (This should be 1.5mm)

I may get this backwards, because we have one that functions the exact opposite way, but if I recall correctly these would be the steps for lowering action:

Start by loosening the 4mm bolt. Only work in 1/4 to 1/2 turns at a time. If you need to bring your action down, you can tighten the 1.5mm. Be careful not to strip or over-tighten. If it becomes snug, and your action is still a little high, be sure to give the 4mm a little more slack.

Repeat this process over until you have it at your desired string height. When finished, be sure to tighten the 4mm back until there is no play with it.

I will point out that re-tightening the 4mm will send your action back up a hair. I'd get your action set, and dip it about .2-.5mm lower than you want it to compensate for the return shift.

If you need to raise action, you would just do the reverse.

Hope it helps!

I am trying to set the neck angle on my 550 it has 1 4mm allen head screw and a tiny hole 2 inches down the back of the guitar. Is this where I put the 1.5 mm allen wrench?
