thinking about cuting a belly contore and the forearm slant on my 1983 rs125, was wondering if anyone here would have an opinion on it.

Is it a natural finish? or a burst finish? The natural finish would seem easier to modify the shape and refinish it. The burst finish would have to be painted after you cut into it. might be a little tough to get the finish looking perfect in that area.

Personally, I would keep it the way it is. I've thought about cutting up some guitars, but usually beaters or cheaper ones. An older roadstar though... I would keep in original shape. But that's just me!

i should have said that this guitar is not exactly stock i put a Kahler trem on it in the mid 80s painted it blue in the mid 90s,
currently i and thinking of repainting it to correct some mistakes from the first paint job, which is why i am thinking of adding the contores.

Unfortunately no. Even the factory paint we use now isn't available to us. What color would you be trying to paint it?

You should definately go for the burst of both the lake placid blue and pelham blue. That would be killer.
Are you also going to refinish the headstock to match, or for a black or natural finished headstock?

keep the RS125 the way it is. i've got an '82 Roadstar II that has the body contours. just get another Roadstar with the contour.

and better act quick-people have begun to discover these great guitars!!
