The 2017 AR325 and AR420 still have two tri switches but the more expensive AR720 and AR725 do not, even though older models used to have them. Any idea why? The top end Artist Prestige has two tri switches.

Not sure why, but I'd guess its more of a design choice. You'll find many expensive guitars by different brands, including Ibanez, that don't use any kind of coil tapping. It isn't a necessary feature for every player, and there are many professional guitar players that don't use any splitting. I'll agree that it is nice to have the option, making it more versatile. However, traditionally speaking, most people will probably stick to a straight humbucking sound from their humbucking pickups.

I do agree that it is a little odd that these don't have them, given that the other AR models usually have them. There isn't any specific reason why they shouldn't have them. At least, other than doing it by design.
