I have a (left handed) RG721RW that I'm planning on doing some upgrades to.
I have some Bareknuckle Juggernauts on the way, and I'm planning to change to a 5 way super switch and change the pickup switch wiring.

I've heard the RG control cavity is tight and can have trouble accomodating super switches, does anybody know which ones (if any) will fit?

If so, could anyone help with a wiring schematic for this control layout, if it's possible?

Position 1 - Neck humbucker
Position 2 - Neck outer coil
Position 3 - Bridge and neck outer coils
Position 4 - Bridge and neck inner coils
Position 5 - Bridge humbucker

Thanks

Someone might be able to try and write up some diagram to make this work with a more standard import switch, but it may not be possible. Like you said, it may require a "super switch". Not sure which Super Switch would work best, but I know in the past, Ibanez has used the VLX91. chances are, this one would work.

Hopefully someone can put a diagram together. Otherwise, if you find the switching pattern layout and the wire color layout for those pickups, you could try to write one up yourself!

Hope this helps,
-Bill

Hi, you can make like I did...use a 3 way switch and change volume or tone pot to push pull

push
position 1 - bridge humbucker
position 2 - bridge and neck humbucker
position 3 - neck humbucker

pull
position 1 - bridge inner or outer coils
position 2 - both bridge and neck (outer or inner )
position 3 - neck inner or outer coils

best regards

I'm trying to avoid using push pulls or mini toggles.
Just want a simple 5 way with only the positions I'd use on it.

Akaik it should be possible with a 5 way super switch, just need a hand with the wiring diagram.
I basically want this exact diagram, but with outer coils on position 3 and inner coils on position 4.
