It's possible that p.u. switch are white and not black (I've never seen this color but in the catalog in effect exist a white part) ?

It's just a screw on piece of plastic, maybe previous owner thought it would look better with a white one and changed it.

ok i have found a nice solution (in catalogue ibanez exist a white piece for this switch for information, then this guitar is an original js100 pre-2000): I bought a ibanez rg prestige 1570 made in japan with pickup di marzio Paf , single di marzio evolution and original p.u. at neck for only 400$ in very good condition (i hope the pictures and description are true, but in the worts case paypal is my insurance), so maybe this is not the right thread for me now Hand !

I've been in touch with the company below who can refinish the guitar and the results look amazing - I'm seriously tempted to get it done. Info below for anyone who's interested!

http://www.simscustom.co.../00sprayshop_chrome.htm

They do quite a few of the chrome finishes a year and have been doing it for quite a while. He said it's the hardest finish to control what the end product looks like but when it's done there's nothing else that looks like it on the market.

It takes 2-3 months and isn't cheap - £580 for the whole thing, including set-up afterwards and changing the colour on the logo to black to match with the original Chromeboy.

£15 to courier the guitar to and from them.

It's a JS. Can tell by the fact it's got a straight headstock. Radius's had tilt back headstocks (Joe prefers straight headstocks... it's one of the changes he made to the Radius design when he had his own signature guitars made).

Don't know the model number though.

Could also be a early Radius that he's simply stuck one of his own necks on.

Finally got a JS guitar... a '97 JS100! I traded for an Alhambra 3C. Needs work. So, far I've upgraded the pickups to the Mo' Joe and PAF Joe DiMarzios. Going to completely overhaul the electronics at some point, maybe replace the trem depending on how it holds up.

I have a JEM7VWH and UV777BK -- bought them new -- but this JS is something I just can't put down :D

Nicely done Ibanez!!

Have a JS1200. Only real nit is that the tremelo arm hits the tone knob when in the pulled position.Eh

Hello,

I have a "JS Series" guitar and I have no idea the year on it and was hoping someone could help me out.

It was purchased used in 1998. It has no headstock serial number. The neck plate reads "Made in Japan J000900". It has the high pass filter and coil tap. Any ideas?

Thanks.

sounds like a 1990 JS1. What color is it or could you post some pics of it?

I don't have a definitive answer but the google search JS1 and "serial number" seems to turn up that guitar and others asking the same question.

Looks like it's in good condition Drool

I have tried to keep very good care of it. Some of the metal parts in the bridge have become soft, though, and I may need to replace it. :(

With the couple of responses here I went out and did a little more research. It looks like it's going to end up being a 1991 JS1. I don't think the 1990 version had the "JS Series" on the headstock and the 1992+ version used a different bridge, same with the original JS1000's.

Thanks for the responses!

They've got a '10 js1000 at GC sold as new/clearance for about 1000 bucks, but I'm skeptical. I mean, it's "new" but it's that low and it's "clearance"?
