Hello peaple. Im new to this forum. I have an old Ibanez white JS1 mint cond with dual humbuckers with coilsplit and highpass filter. No JS series on headstock and the serial # J 000024. It has a couple of really small dings on it that is visual when you look really close. Its totally original and not even ware on the frets or trem. I'm about to sell it and ive got a pretty good offer for it. What is those guitar worth in mint cond as i described? I've seen guitars with a lot higher serial sold for more cash that i was offered. Just curious. BooHoo

Guitar and case
Serialnumber

Have a great day!

Hi all, I picked up a 2003 JS1000 BTB which seems to have some non-standard electronics - it has the coil tap push-pull tone pot to get the single-coil sounds, but turning the pot makes no change to the tone at all - its like it is bypassed, giving a full treble sound all the time.

Also the volume pot is not push-pull so I can't get the w/high pass filter option.

Has anyone heard of similar JS1000s? I'm wondering if I have some kind of transition model which never had the high pass filter or simply if the previous owner has been tinkering.

Note that it also has the Edge Pro trem and Prestige Neck.

Cheers

Sorry to say, but this looks to be a FAKE Joe Satriani model. The neck shape on the back along with many other features are a bit off. It looks like it was trying to pass as a JS100 type model:

The tremolo would use BLACK allen bolt height screws as well as Black fine tuners and a black tremolo arm. The cavity plate on the tremolo would be recessed and would not stick above the wood. Also, some of the cuts in the wood of the body look a little off and not as "rounded" as the JS models would be.

Hope this helps,
-Bill

It does not seem to be a genuine JS to me. No "JS Series" decal in the headstock , neck back plate is definitely not JS1000 series, even if it was a JS100 it should have JOE SATRIANI plate at 21st fret which it does not have. Check for origin in the back of the headstock.

BTW, a pre-JS guitar is a Ibanez S540R "radius", which would have SSH pickup confg, not HH . http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/540R

If I was you I would ask for documentation (certificate , receipt, etc)

best luck
JC

Ibanez did make some 540R models with two humbuckers in the 80's and 90's the RHH. I had one similar to this but it didn't have a skunk stripe down the neck (as I recall). I wish I still had that guitar.
