Wrong thread to ask that question..

But I'll answer your question anyway. The EGEN is around $3,000+(correct me if I'm wrong) I believe..In Pesos it should be P150,000 if you order it from Audiophile compnents.
When the **** hits the fan...TAKE COVER!!!

Anyone? I cannot locate this PGM at all. The color scheme is different from all of his others.

It hasn't been released sadly. Paul used it a lot during the GOOMY tour and its my new favorite PGM. If they release it this year I will be so excited, but it looks like were getting the Fireman and the burst, which I couldn't care less about.

Thank you. I do wish they'd make this one available to the public. This is my favorite color scheme I've seen so far.

It's a custom, of which paul has many...... mainly cuz Ibanez basically said to Paul early on in their relationship, we'll make you anything you want, and he basically ran with it.... to the point where he got them to make him a guitar shaped like a 2000 that he really only intended to play at the millennium..... that's kinda when they said um, paul? We'd like it if you can ask us to make something we can actually sell....

I'd love to knock on his door and say, "Dude, you ROCK!, happen to have a spare one of those?"

hehehe yeah...
Something else that I'm pondering is, if the 'Fireman' is released as a signature, what would the pickup configuration be...? As I've noticed he seems to be using the Korina S/S/S one more often than not.... yet he has the mahogany H/H one with the cherry top that he uses sometimes as well.....

I've also wanted to trade in my JS1200 for a PGM guitar, but think of all the feauters on the JS... Ex. The coiltaps.
But It also depends what music you play you know... I play mostly blues, blues-rock, hard rock and some heavy metal, but If I was more of a shredder I think I would go for the PGM.

I've had a JS1 since they were issued and I would never consider selling it for any guitar. It's totally unique and I would miss it from the day it left. If you sell the 1200 you will regret it.

Also bear in mind that the JS and PGM are entirely different. The neck shape and fingerboard radius are totally different so if you have "regular" sized hands and are used to the JS you will find the PGM to feel really wide and flat.

My advice is do what I'm going to do: by a PGM401 and keep the JS! I have a JEM 7DBK that will go up for sale to fund the PGM - the tone and feel of the JEM just don't do it for me. The JS has a tone that makes the JEM sound thin and weak, while the PGM401 seems like everything I like about the JEM plus everything I like about the JS, and even does away with the Floyd bridge to make things simple and tasty.

On another note: can anyone explain why the PGM401 costs $400 more than the JS1600? They basically have the same spec (fixed bridge, double Dimarzio humbuckers) so I can't figure it out. Ibanez must think there will be more demand for the PGM?

First of all, welcome to the forum!

I bet the finish has something to do with it. Bursts are more work than solid colors and then there's the f-holes.

Peace

Mike

Thanks! I've been lurking a lot since just before NAMM. This is a great site for teezers and info.

I'd ask Ibanez to issue a PGM401 with an unfinished body! That way it would be cheaper and I wouldn't have to take it apart, sand the body down, and refinish it to get rid of the f-holes. Just my preference, although I respect PG for being unique (it's his signature guitar, after all).
