I have an Ibanez AF105SM ABR Limited Artcore Electro Acoustic Guitar Spolted Maple. I wonder if someone could tell me how many were made and how many were imported to Australia.
           Billl

Unfortunately, I also have no idea how many of those special edition guitars were made. An internet search revealed no information about quantities.

That is a very pretty wood and finish. I'd like to see an AM93 with this type of wood and finish!
My advice? Invest in LESSONS not gear.

Not the same color, but the same spalted maple top is available in a natural finish for the AS103SM. However, its only available in Europe I think!

Hello Friends !
History of the Burl Maple & Spalted Maple Artcore's:

These Limited Edition guitars were built by the Ibanez Japanese

"Master Builders" sent to train employee's at the Ibanez

China Based Custom Shop.

"These" guitars are Hand Made .

ONLY 240 total guitars were built by these Master Craftsmen.

Only 60 Spalted Maple Jazz Boxes

Only 60 Spalted Maple DC's

Only 60 Burl Maple Jazz Boxes

& Only 60 Burl Maple DC's

Also, these guitars where presented [4] at the NAMM show. ALL where
snatched up [ all 240 ] in less than 1 day !
They are VERY RARE & highly sought after !

Thanks.

Awesome, thanks for that info!! I have an AK105SM and didn't realize it was made by the Japanese builder by hand.

I walked into my local guitar shop for my lesson last month just as they were putting an AS103SM out for display. Turns out an employee of the store bought it when it came in 2008 and hung it on the wall in his collection. He has decided to sell off some of his collection and I was just lucky enough to be there when this came in. I sat down and played it for 3.5 hours and decided this was the guitar I have been searching for. I am truly in love with this guitar. I never had a strong opinion about Ibanez guitars until I got this one. Now I am very curious to explore their other offerings, which is why I joined this forum.

Anyone else out there have one of these beauties?
