As the Title. Post pictures of your SZ series guitar. No SZR's here though. Not yet!!

To kick off here's my 04 SZ320

Nice blurry picture just after changing the Knobs and pickup rings to black.

Then after fitting a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge.

Then I fitted EMG 81/85 combo and never looked back. This is such a good combo IMHO for this guitar.

Then one with its S520 cousin

And then a gratuitous Ibanez Family shot ;)

Post pics of all yours!!

For a tip that will save you hours, go andbuy a gibson style 3 way switch and use that!!

You can't split the coils anyway then you can take the old harness out completly as it is too!

I've also a ZW set in my 320, except I have the 85 in the bridge.

I had a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge before.

Good work. Mines usually in drop C# too! or Drop C recently as my s520 is now in Drop C#. The SZ's are by far the most versatile guitar I've ever used. You would have thought the shorter scale would make drop tuning worse, but the thru body stringing and that angle on the bridge make it not a problem!!

Mine's in Drop C with D'Ad 12-52! I could really use a slightly thicker 6th string, tho. I want the 12-54 gauge.

Check out for GHS Strings. The Zakk Wylde's have various thinkness.
0.11 - 0.70
0.10 - 0.60
0.09 - 0.54

Yeah normally the nut is to narrow for those strings, so you need to widen it.
If you don't want to go that think theres always GHS Dave Mustaine 0.10 - 0.52 if you don't feel like widening it to much.

Now, that's a bit too extreme for me, lol.

I like my strings a bit more balanced. I don't really like super light top strings and super thick low strings.

And as far as modifying the nut, I think I've gotten 13-59's to fit in mine a while ago when I was attempting to tune to Drop Bb. It was a while ago, so I don't really remember if I had any trouble fitting them, TBH.

My SZ320, i just love it. Currently it has an Air Norton/X2N combo and .12 strings on it :)

Makes me happy how i got it since i was saving for a new guitar and MF just priced em to 250$, and despite the importing and currency restrictions in my country, everything worked itself out so i got it (thanks God.

Dang! Now that is a really REALLY nice looking guitar. Everytime I see a beauty of an SZ like this purple one, I wonder what Ibanez was thinking when they discontinued the SZ series and inroduced the "ghostrider" SZR series. The SZs are so much nicer and better looking.

Why Ibanez Why??? Wall Wall Wall (Ouch my head, I shouldn't bang it into the wall that much)

Super sweet deal for such an amazing looking guitar. Real bargen for only $300. Did she need a lot of work to get her to the state she's in now?

no it was like new, not a scratch, ding, or anything. I had never spent that much money on epay, and dude I was sweating it. It just had to tuned, he detuned it for shipping. I think I got pretty lucky.
