I am curious if anyone knows where I can find the wiring diagram for the EGEN? I have looked and searched with no luck so far. I want to try that setup on my guitar and see how it sounds. But I need a diagram cause I cannot seem to figure it out in my head.

hey no prob. I appreciate you even trying to help me out. I don't think any guitar store would let me open it up to get a pic of one. That is if I can even find one in stock around here.

Hi. I am also looking for hte E-Gen wiring to mod my S5470f - although with a small addition, as I would like to replace the mid pickup with a minibucker, therefore in positions 2 and 4 (pot up or down) I should only have one blade of hte middle pickup active. Any chances to get this, or at least the E-Gen wiring?

Thanks a lot in advance

Tom, I have rewired my RG550DX with a Mo'Joe and a PAF JOE, using the diagram you so kindly posted. After some good 4 hours, I finished the wiring, and the coils split just as shown in the scheme. Now I can go from humbucker to a nice strat-like single-coil sound at the pull of a switch. And the mid position with the switch up sounds just lovely with a clean tone. But I had to make some assumptions, and I wonder whether I guessed something wrong which is causing 1) that when turning the volume to zero the guitar doesn't go totally silent, and 2) that when I touch the volume pot or I turn the volume up and down I get a small noise:

If you look at the volume pot in the diagram, you will notice that there are 3 cables that it's not clear where they go. That's the black wire that goes to bridge ground (I soldered this one to the left-most terminal of the volume pot), a black wire coming from the selector's frame (I soldered this one to the pot's carcass), and the grey cable coming from one of the terminals of the selector (I also soldered that one to mass). However, I'm starting to think that to remove the noise when I touch/turn the pot I should also connect the left-most terminal of the volume pot to the carcass, in order to connnect it to ground. Is that right, or have my assumptions been terribly wrong?

Thanks again in advance!

That "to bridge" wire gets soldered to the side of the pot (as in the pic), not to the leg (all grounds get soldered there). And the "bridge" it's referring to is your tremelo. This is the wire that goes to the trem claw in your spring cavity (which is connected to the bridge via the springs, sustain block). The grey wire also goes to the side of the pot (or top as most people tend to do it). The other black wire coming from the selector is the one that goes to the pots leftmost pin. At least that's my interpretation of it. But either way, at least one of the wires coming from the selector needs to go to the side/top of the pot to help ground the selector.

sweeeet I am a genius ( shhhh in my mind i am) I found the pickups I want/ need to complete the most powerful guitar in the universe muu ha ha ha. I found the PU's though. $230 for the buckers and $72 for the singularity. wow thats a chunk of change. I guess I will be doing this in installments lol. I still have to try my edge pro I have. Its keeping my Orig edge and my 2 boxes of Ibanez stuff company. I think I need to have a Ibanez parts sale. I got hooked on this modding/aquiring/hording of Ibanez parts something terrible maybe they will have a intervention for me lol.
Anyho Dimarzio has the pickups, although not listed this is what I was told anyway.

Referring to the 2 posts ^^^^ above me here. I have been reading where techs/Luthiers have been removing the (ground) from the pots themselves and creating a ground bar or hub as to keep I assume the heat off of the pots. I am curious if any of you all have re-routed your wiring to a hub style setup thus limiting solders on pots to a minimum 1 or 2? I have a link to a few wiring mods and shielding instructional site if anyone interested? I am thinking when I wire up "Beta" I am going to do a specialty wiring project with ground blocks and a extensive shielding job. I have the supplies I need and I know it can't hurt. It may not improve it a ton but I will know it is not recieving interferance and is wired for maximum output. Plus its fun.
