I heard somewhere that the neck was designed for 9-42 super light.

Is this true or can you bump up to 10-46 regular light?

Thanks

You can use any string gauge or brand you want but you will have to do a proper set up, as with any other guitar on the market.

Yes, I agree.

This will probably require shimming of the nut.

This will probably require a small adjustment to bridge height.

This will definitely require spring tension adjustment.

And, finally this will require re-intonation.

Thanks for the heads up on overall string tension limitations.

I mean, I am not putting on 12-54.

In fact, my total string tension now is 85.2 and I am increasing it to 103.6.

Thanks

Mine is strung with DR Pure Blues 11's with no issues.

Thanks guys, I pulled the trigger on the 10s to start with, so that I would get a good a/b comparison.

Be prepared to make a slight adjustment of the truss rod nut , too. With all of the extra tension--you may get a slight bow.
Just another Ibanez freak!
