I have a GSR200 bass. Love it. Except for the control knobs. I can barely see the little dot on the dome knobs, so making note of where things are set is not as easy as I would like.

Getting these knobs off is not a problem, but I want to be sure whatever new knobs I put on will fit well.

They look pretty standard (e.g. like what's on my Strat) so I'm assuming I can buy any set of guitar knobs and they'll fit.

Has anyone else done this? Any knobs you found that fit well, or fit poorly? Anything to watch for (i.e. is the post higher or lower than other instruments)?

I'm looking to get a set that have some distinct number markings, and then align them to they all have the 0 at the top (so there's a common point of reference, and I can easily read their setting when looking down at them when playing).

The only thing to watch out for is the size of the tone control shaft. You have to determine what size is on your axe, then order the style knobs you want that accept that shaft size.

There are two standard sizes, and I forget what they are, but most knobs are available in both sizes.

Below is a link to a supplier that will let you specify the shaft size:

Thank you. The pots are coarse-splined. Great link, BTW.
