The stock tuners are perfectly good, but I'm used to locking tuners, so I'd like to replace them. I want to be sure of getting one that just fits without required me to drill out the holes. Can someone suggest a good replacement, preferably with a similar look?

My favorites are Schaller, but I've also been happy with Sperzel and Hipshot.

Gotoh makes a locking version of their SG381's that will drop right in with any modifications. They are available with either the thumbwheel lock or the post lock. I tend to prefer the post lock but I understand that many players prefer the thumbwheel lock. Personal preference you know.

Thanks, they look good, and it seems I can get them on reverb for a decent price: https://reverb.com/item/...uning-machine-gold-3rx3l

Yes those are the ones... The thumbwheel version. I have the post version on my AM93 as well as a few of other guitars. I am currently in the process of re-furbing a gold top AR320 and haven't decided whether to go with the post version or thumbwheel version. LOL

Oh and I should add that I have dealt with Philadelphia Luthier Tools & Supplies a few times and they are a very good company.

Interesting! I have only used thumbwheel locking tuners. The post one automatically tightens when the string tension increases and when it's tight enough, the post starts to turn? It sounds cool, but also seems like it might be prone to develop a problem. How long have you had them in the AM93?
