Hi guys, I'm new here and I hope that this is not a duplicate discussion.

So, my S470's tremolo arm holder cracked and split in 2 where it screws into place. I've read that this was unfortunately common among the ZR range of bridges.

Now I'm of the position where I can replace the arm holder with a new one, but I wish to know if it's possible to replace the holder and bar with a Edge Pro variant?

I was never very fond of the screw in nature of the arm and if possible I'd prefer to change it entirely. If not, I'll go ahead and get the ZR v2 parts.

I would go for the ZR2 option to be sure that it will fit. These newer sockets/arms don't screw in the same way as the ZR1, but still have a screw cap on top.

The EDGE Pro arm socket may work, but I've never heard of anyone trying that.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the reply.

I eventually went for it, as an experiment if nothing else.

The holder fits in, but the little room that is left doesn't allow it to make a flush connection. It is still capable of moving the bridge up and down, but the wriggle room means that the arm holder and tremolo bar move independently from the bridge first.

If I had a washer and an appropriate device to hold the nut in place it could be potentially tightened to stop this issue, but I remain a little skeptical of this.

I feel the only way for this to work would be for it to sit with a piece of material filling the mm or so gap.
