My 1993 (Japan) SR885 got messed up a while ago. The mid/sweep stacked pot got snapped off (the top part). The bass/treble one got bent. I got the sweep setting where I want it using needle nose pliers, but I want to fix this.

I've contacted rich@ibanezrules for replacement parts. Rich can't see any parts for basses before 2000. The only thing available would be the 3VR1VM304 and 3VR1VM303 (there's also a 3VR1VM309?). Seems like my only choice. Any recommendation to do something different?

I bought another 5 string a few years back. I won't mention the brand. It looked great. Played just fine. I realized that it just wasn't as good as this old 885. I was trying to find reasons to replace it, but it just works for me.

I would usually consider changing the preamp entirely. If you find an aftermarket preamp that uses the same amount of pots, you can probably just get the preamp set and it will include all of the pots to replace your current wiring.
